When Hearts Grow Cold
The other day my mailman made my day by doing one simple thing. He asked, with genuine caring, how I was doing. His concern was apparent. It seems, to me, a rare thing that people interact fully with one another these days. Jesus Christ told us that in end times the love of men would grow cold:
Matthew 24:12 KJV
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
It is very easy to fall into an uncaring mindset. Media has desensitized us to violence, truth is seldom told, and we are quick to judge others based off of our own presumptions; without knowing fully their circumstances/motivations.
Let’s turn away from the “it’s all about us mindset”. Show compassion one to another, because you have no way of knowing the full scope of the burdens others bear. As Christ said:
Matthew 7:1-3 KJV
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Think before you fall into judgement yourself.

Thank you, Melanie. 🙂
You never know how much a smile and a kind word to a stranger whom you pass on a sidewalk or see in a grocery store might impact his/her day…especially if that person is in despair. 🙂 You just never know.
